PITCHWOOD POTTERY
The owner and creator of Pitchwood Pottery is Erin Christenson, who is a full-time wildland firefighter and travels all over the American West during peak fire season. In her off time, which is usually during the winter, she has turned her passion for pottery into a business and approached me to create a brand identity.
OPTIONS
Erin really wanted something simple and organic, as well as something that would translate well to being made into a stamp so that she could quite literally "brand" her creations.
She knew she wanted a cross-cut of wood to be the main focus, but didn't have too much direction beyond that.
FINAL DESIGN
We settled on a bold, sans-serif font to contrast with the thin organic lines in the logo and created two versions, in case the stamp would not be able to hold fine detail. The final result was exactly what Erin wanted and is a timeless identity that adds style and a personal touch to Erin's incredible pottery.
